WELCOME, N.C. (AP) - A company that makes switches and power systems is expanding in Davidson County creating 50 new jobs.

The Dispatch of Lexington reports (https://bit.ly/22rWeQb ) that ASCO Power Technologies is investing almost $6 million in its plant in the community of Welcome. The project, which should be completed by next summer, will mean 50 additional jobs at the plant that already employs 450 workers.

ASCO Power Technologies is a subsidiary of Emerson.

ASCO makes automatic switches and power systems that protect facilities such as hospitals, data centers and telecommunications networks.
