PERRYVILLE, Md. (AP) - Maryland State Police say a Georgia man has been arrested and charged with assault and weapons charges after a road rage incident in Perryville.

Police say the incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Police say they received a call from a woman traveling with her young children who said a man pulled up in a car next to her and pointed a handgun at her. The woman said she ducked, slowed down and called 911. The man was driving a burgundy Toyota, which was located north of Route 222 in Cecil County. Police say there was also a female passenger in the car and a 14-month-old child in a car seat. Police say guns were recovered.

The driver, 33-year-old Ashanti Smalls, was arrested and charged with various crimes.
