LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man has been arrested after he was spotted walking along a service road in a secured area of Los Angeles International Airport.

LAX police spokesman Rob Pedregon says a Southwest Airlines employee saw the man walking along the road around 11 a.m. Friday and reported him to police.

The road is in a prohibited area behind an airport fence that has barbed wire and is used for vehicles moving between runways and taxiways. Pedregon says the only way the man could have gotten in was by hopping the fence, though he had no apparent injuries.

Pedregon says the man is believed homeless. He’s undergoing a mental evaluation that will determine if he should face any charges.
