FREEHOLD, N.J. (AP) - A man who posed as a state trooper and robbed two men in October 2012 at gunpoint has been convicted of impersonating a law enforcement officer and robbery.

Forty-nine-year-old Steven Rinck, of Keansburg, was convicted on Thursday.

He convinced the victim he was a law enforcement officer after showing him a document he said was a search warrant.

He then stole cash and drugs from the victim and another man and forced both into a vehicle at gunpoint. He let one go, but drove the other around claiming he wanted information on where to obtain guns.
