RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) - A new online tool aims to help Wyoming hunters plan their excursions.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says the Big-Game Wyoming Hunt Planner provides better maps that combine species-specific information with license details, harvest information and other useful insights.

The Rawlins Daily Times (https://bit.ly/1OlamQK ) reports the site is interactive, showing topography and landscapes to help hunters plan their trips. Officials say hunters can customize their own maps for use on their computers and mobile devices. The site contains information on antelope, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, moose and other animals.

Scott Talbott, director of Game and Fish, says the site came in response to requests from the public and should increase hunting safety next year.
