WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - New Castle County police say a speeding car careened into a building.

Police say the incident occurred just before 2 a.m. on Friday on the 3200 block of Falcon Lane in Wilmington. Police say officers responded after a witness reported seeing a car speeding through the area before skidding on wet concrete and striking a building. The witness told police that two men jumped out of the car through the front passenger door and ran away into the woods nearby.

Police say the car has been identified as a 2015 Nissan Altima owned by a rental car agency.

Police say a building inspector responded to the building and said the structure wasn’t compromised, but deemed the site unsafe.

The incident is under investigation.
