BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) - A 77-year-old woman is in custody after authorities allege she shot her 77-year-old husband and his friend in a family dispute.

KFDM-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Ol1t9I ) that Iris Fontenot has been accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She’s alleged to have shot her husband, Joseph Fontenot, and 60-year-old Pablo Riojas at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The shooting occurred at their rural home near Deweyville, east of Beaumont.

The Newton County sheriff’s office did not immediately release a possible motive for the shooting.

Joseph Fontenot was hospitalized for pellet wounds, some near his eye. Riojas refused treatment.

Iris Fontenot was jailed Friday and did not have an attorney.
