WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) - Utah State Troopers helped deliver gifts on Christmas Eve to a boy whose grandfather died less than a week ago in a car crash.

KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Or1lfd ) that 3-year-old Isaac Lopez was in the back seat when his grandfather, Juan Lopez, had a heart attack while driving Dec. 18. Lopez crashed and later died at the hospital.

Sgt. David Moreno says many small children don’t survive such crashes and the fact that Isaac survived made him so happy he was compelled to give back.

Moreno played with Isaac after the crash and found the boy loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He and other Troopers decided to purchase and deliver gifts to the boy.
