BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - A Bogue Chitto man arrested after allegedly shooting at sheriff’s deputies earlier this month is being held in the Lincoln County jail on a $1 million bond.

The Daily Leader reports (https://bit.ly/1SfDa3d ) 40-year-old Christopher Hamilton was released from the hospital Tuesday where he had been transported after being shot by sheriff’s deputies.

Hamilton allegedly fired at deputies when they tried to serve him warrants Dec. 3 and deputies returned fire.

It was unknown whether Hamilton has an attorney who could comment on the case.

Sheriff Steve Rushing says Hamilton faces three felony counts of possession of weapon by a convicted felon, child abuse/battery causing serious injury and two felony counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
