ELKTON, Md. (AP) - Four people were seriously injured after a deck collapsed during a family gathering in Elkton.

The second-story deck, which was about 15 feet off the ground, collapsed at roughly 1:30 p.m. Friday at a residence on the 100 block of East Village Road.

Officials say a woman in her 50s suffered lower leg trauma, and three people in their 20s were also injured. All four were taken to Christiana Hospital in Delaware for treatment.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
