AUBURNDALE, Wis. (AP) - Authorities have identified a Marshfield man who was killed on Christmas Eve when his truck was hit by a train in Auburndale.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Department says 30-year-old Danni H. Zapet Cruz drove across the railroad tracks and was hit by an eastbound Canadian National train. It happened around 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

Cruz died at the scene.

The railroad tracks at that crossing are controlled by a stop sign.

Auburndale is about eight miles southeast of Marshfield in central Wisconsin.
