HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is closing its environmentally themed store at DEEP’s headquarters in Hartford and moving all operations online.

The public has been able to purchase everything from state park vehicle passes to the Connecticut Butterfly Atlas at the store located at 79 Elm Street. But starting Dec. 31 at noon, the store will transition to an online-only shopping venue.

During its final days, the store location will be offering items at discounted prices. The same discounts will be offered through the online store as well.

DEEP Commissioner Robert Klee said the online store will continue to provide environmentally themed gifts, books and publications for children and adults, in addition to state park passes.
