SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Some of downtown Santa Fe’s busiest museums are closing early because of weekend snow storms.
New Mexico History Museum spokeswoman Kate Nelson says the museum, Palace of Governors and the New Mexico Museum of Art all closed at 1 p.m. because of the poor driving conditions brought on by the weather.
Museum officials will decide Sunday morning whether to reopen.
The National Weather Service is predicting a wallop of a storm system to sweep parts of New Mexico this weekend.
The weather service has issued a winter storm watch for central and western portions of the state and a rare blizzard watch for much of the Eastern Plains.
Various cities have anywhere from a 23 to 84 percent chance of seeing precipitation Saturday..
