PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A major Rhode Island health insurer is moving its headquarters and about 200 employees next month from Providence to a suburban office park off Interstate 295 in Smithfield.

The Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island tells WPRI-TV (https://bit.ly/1QKN0uF ) that the relocation from its current headquarters near downtown Providence will continue in phases over the next five years and is meant to accommodate growth.

Founded in 1993, the nonprofit insurer serves low-income residents and counts more than 175,000 members in the state.

It has about 435 employees and plans to maintain some presence in Providence.
