KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - Police say a suspect is in custody and a victim was wounded in a shooting at a McDonald’s restaurant in Kenosha.

Sgt. James Beller says it happened around 10:45 a.m. Saturday, outside the building in the drive-thru area. He says the suspect and the victim were acquainted with each other, but the motive remains under investigation.

Beller says the suspect fired into a minivan and wounded the victim. The suspect was arrested a short time later at a residence in Kenosha. He says the victim is hospitalized in stable condition.

Steve Thatcher, McDonald’s director of operation for the greater Chicago area, tells WISN-TV it was an isolated incident that was not related to the restaurant. He says McDonald’s is fully cooperating with investigators.

Beller says the company’s statement is accurate.
