WILMINGTON, Ohio (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for parts of northern Indiana and northwestern Ohio.

The watch remains in effect from Saturday night through Monday afternoon.

The weather service’s Wilmington, Ohio, office says periods of heavy rainfall could produce 2 to 4 inches of rain by Monday night with higher amounts locally.

The rain could cause flooding in low-lying areas and small streams and significant rising in larger streams and rivers.

Forecasts continue to call for unseasonably warm weather at least until the New Year.

Counties affected in Ohio include Allen, Defiance and Fulton and in Indiana they include Adams, Blackford and Noble counties.
