SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Authorities in Spartanburg County say a man involved in a domestic dispute has died after a Christmas Day stabbing that was ruled self-defense.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Kevin Bobo says in a news release that Eric Clayton Snyder, 41, of Greer, died from a stab wound in the Christmas Day altercation.

Bobo says Snyder assaulted a woman and she went to her estranged husband for help. Bobo says Snyder started to attack the husband, who then stabbed Snyder.

The news release said the local solicitor’s office has ruled the stabbing self-defense.
