BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - Brookhaven police say an alleged robbery plan ended with two men dead, and a 17-year-old girl is accused of plotting with one man to rob the other.

Chief Bobby Bell says 17-year-old Jaquarius Jones and 22-year-old Julian Gayten apparently shot each other, but it’s not clear who fired first.

He tells The Enterprise-Journal (https://bit.ly/1QUfZvI ) the girl is being held on charges of conspiracy to rob Gayten and conspiracy after the fact to commit murder.

The Associated Press is not identifying her because of her age. It was not clear whether she has an attorney who could comment.

Bell says she reportedly had been talking or texting with both men.

He says someone called police when Jones ran out of Gayten’s house and collapsed in the street about 7 a.m. Thursday.
