WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia police say they’ve charged a man with drunken driving after a crash that left him, another adult and two children with serious injuries.

The single-vehicle crash occurred early Sunday morning in northeast Washington. All four people in the car were taken to hospitals. Police did not have details on their injuries.

Police say the driver, 26-year-old Freddie Herndon of southeast Washington, was charged with driving under the influence.
