HOUSTON (AP) - Houston police are looking for three people who opened fire on an off-duty police officer who was flagged down by a man they were trying to rob.

Oswaldo Hernandez tells Houston television station KTRK (https://abc13.co/1QUbFN8 ) he was walking to a bus stop when he was confronted by the men in a car and they tried to take his money.

Hernandez was able to break free and waved down a passing car. He says he didn’t know it was police officer on his way to work.

As the officer stopped, the men in the car sped away and started shooting.

No one was hurt.
