CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say a second person has died from a head-on crash that happened last week in Benton County.

The sheriff’s office said Monday that 25-year-old Benjamin Nelson of Monroe died over the weekend at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. He was behind the wheel of a minivan that crossed the centerline on Highway 99W and collided with an SUV driven by Arthur Fuller of Eugene.

Fuller died at the scene Wednesday four miles north of Monroe.

The crash remains under investigation, but the sheriff’s office says preliminary information shows Nelson was driving under the influence of drugs.
