LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Equipment removal by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers prompted by the recent severe weather will require temporarily closing both lanes of State Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam.

Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department officials made the announcement Monday.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will close all lanes on the bridge. After 6 p.m., traffic for both directions will be routed through the westbound lane while the eastbound lane remains closed.

The closure allows the Corps to remove equipment required to refurbish the gates on the dam.
