MIAMI (AP) - Police say a 13-year-old boy was shot three times in the torso while visiting his grandmother in Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade Det. Marjorie Eloi says Eric Watson Jr. talked to medics when they arrived to help him around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The Miami Herald (https://hrld.us/1MEFb1B ) reports the child was outside talking with friends when he was shot.
Eloi says investigators are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
It comes one day after a 7-year-old boy was fatally shot in nearby Richmond Heights. Officers don’t believe the shootings are connected.
Eloi says It is “becoming heartbreaking to … continuously come out and speak about these shootings involving children.”
