CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Three former Nevada Republican Party chairwomen are throwing their support behind GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

The former Hewlett-Packard CEO’s campaign announced this week that Amy Tarkanian, Earlene Forsythe and Lia Roberts had joined her Nevada leadership team. All three previously led the state party.

Tarkanian said she supported Fiorina’s ideas of empowering communities rather than federal bureaucracies, and said Fiorina would work to create a “bottom-up growth economy” rather than a top-town system.

The three former state chairwomen were among 13 members of a leadership team announced Wednesday.

Fiorina will be in Nevada later this month for the Republican presidential debate in Las Vegas and for a campaign event in Reno.
