BUFORD, Ga. (AP) - Police says a boy has died and several others were seriously injured in a crash after a driver hit a deer in suburban Atlanta.

Gwinnett County police Cpl. Michele Pihera tells local news media that 11-year-old Andrew Caymol died in the fiery two-car crash Wednesday night. Pihera says Caymol died at the scene.

Pihera says the deer emerged from the right side of the roadway into the path of the vehicle driven by Yagi Fumio. The 28-year-old Fumio swerved and crashed head-on with another vehicle driven by Mateo Caymol.

Pihera says Matea Caymol, passenger 13-year-old Matthew Caymol riding in the same vehicle and Fumio were each seriously injured. All were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center.

Pihera says no charges have been filed against either driver.
