ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) - A mule deer was killed and the driver of a pickup truck was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Dixie Regional Medical Center after a crash on state Route 18 near Diamond Valley.

The Spectrum reports (https://bit.ly/1Tnw2zC ) that on Wednesday a deer jumped over a northbound car, landing on the southbound truck causing extensive damage to the hood and passenger compartment and injuring the driver.

The driver of the truck sustained a large laceration under his chin. Authorities say both vehicles were traveling at the posted speed limit of 65 mph at the time of the collision.
