PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island grand jury has indicted a man on murder and assault charges in connection with a triple stabbing in Providence that killed a woman and wounded two others.

The state attorney general’s office says 34-year-old David Allison of Providence was indicted Wednesday. He remains detained without bail pending an arraignment scheduled for Dec. 23.

Prosecutors say Allison broke into the home of 26-year-old Maria Feliciano on Sept. 1 and stabbed her, her 26-year-old sister Elba Feliciano and 29-year-old Adrianna Figueroa. Elba Feliciano died, and Maria Feliciano and Figueroa were injured. Police say one of the women stabbed Allison in what appeared to be self-defense.

Allison’s response to the allegations is unknown. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
