SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) - A food supervisor who worked at a Michigan prison has been convicted of trying to have an inmate assaulted.

Michael Young of Kincheloe was convicted Thursday in Sault Ste. Marie.

The attorney general’s office says Young was working for a private company, Aramark, at an Upper Peninsula prison last year when he asked an inmate to find another inmate to commit an assault at a different prison.

Investigators say the 27-year-old Young was targeting someone who was involved in the death of a family member.

The attorney general’s office says Young had offered tobacco products.
