NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 39-year-old man fatally shot himself after first shooting an ex-girlfriend and her 44-year-old male companion in Brooklyn.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Thursday in the borough’s East Flatbush neighborhood.

Police say the gunman shot the 33-year-old woman and her current boyfriend while they sat together in a car.

They say the man then crossed the street and shot himself.

Police say the two men were pronounced dead. The ex-girlfriend was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police didn’t disclose the identities of the people.
