CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a woman accidentally hit the gas and ran over her cousin outside a South Florida bank.

The accident happened Wednesday afternoon in Coral Springs, which is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.

The Sun Sentinel (https://bit.ly/1TmRdC2 ) reports 61-year-old Rubiela Aviles-Rojas was dragged about 30 feet in the Chase bank parking lot. The SUV driven by Blanca Rojas-Bedoya hit a curb before striking a tree.

According to a Coral Springs police report, bystanders flipped the 1999 Mitsubishi SUV onto its side to free the woman. She was flown to a hospital where she died a short time later.

Officials say Rojas-Bedoya wasn’t injured. No charges have been filed but an investigation continues.
