COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The University of South Carolina’s police and safety officers are on the prowl for Christmas gifts for needy children.

Officers with the university’s Division of Law Enforcement and Safety are collecting new, unwrapped toys Thursday and Friday on the campus.

Donors may leave items in a police car parked in front of Russell House each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The toys are being donated to the Toys for Tots program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Other donations will be accepted through Dec. 10 at the division’s offices.
