ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - A family of four is being evicted after they say the apartment’s management company told them their son, who had disabilities, is too loud.

Local news organizations report the family’s month-to-month lease at Arlington’s Oakland Apartments is being terminated as of Thursday.

Francisco and Esmeralda Diaz say the property manager has complained about their two children making too much noise. They say the manager has also complained that their 10-year-old son, who has a developmental disability, has been heard laughing loudly in the hallway outside the apartment.

Dennis Jaffe, a tenant advocate with Buyers and Renters Arlington Voice, says the company offered the family a different apartment they say they can’t afford.

The property manager did not comment to news agencies about the eviction.
