HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Republican state Rep. Julie Harhart says she won’t run for a 12th term representing citizens in parts of Northampton and Lehigh counties.

The 70-year-old lawmaker’s 11th term expires on Nov. 30.

Harhart announced her decision in an email Wednesday.

The 183rd District she represents consists mostly of communities in western Northampton County, but crosses over into small portions of Lehigh County, too.

Harhart was elected in 1994 and was majority chair of the House Professional Licensure Committee, in addition to other committee posts.
