REVERE, Mass. (AP) - The Revere Election Commission has finally named the suburban Boston city’s mayor-elect following a court-ordered recount.

The Boston Globe reports (https://bit.ly/1JfpdQI ) Tuesday’s count had two-term city councilor Brian Arrigo ahead of incumbent Dan Rizzo by a total of 108 votes. The decision upheld Arrigo’s victory at the polls on Nov. 3, when he bested Rizzo by 118 votes.

Officials say the recount took seven hours to complete and could cost the city upward of $25,000 in legal fees and extra police details.

Rizzo says he believes his defeat can be tied to his failure in bringing a casino to Suffolk Downs.

Arrigo says his main focus will be crafting Revere’s $170 million annual budget. He is set to take office on Jan. 4.
