RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Reno middle school is reopening two weeks later than scheduled because of extensive flood damage.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/1SosY8D ) that the Washoe County School District announced Wednesday that classes at Pine Middle School will resume on Jan. 25. Each school day will be increased by 15 minutes until spring break starts on March 18.

The district says a pipe broke above the school’s cafeteria and caused almost the entire first floor to flood. Officials aren’t sure what cause the pip to separate.
