GENEVA, Neb. (AP) - Officials say a proposed fertilizer plant would provide 25 to 30 new jobs in the Fillmore County city of Geneva.

Fortigen, which is owned by Tetrad Corp., of Omaha, plans to build the plant on the eastern edge of Geneva. The city of about 2,200 people sits 70 miles southwest of Lincoln.

City Administrator Kyle Svec (SEH’-vehk) told the Lincoln Journal Star (https://bit.ly/1YRj8kK ) that the proposal has already passed through two of the three required rounds of hearings. He expects the $75 million project will be approved at Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Fortigen wants to start construction this coming spring and have the plant open by fall 2017.
