ATLANTA (AP) - Grammy-winning rapper T.I. will headline Atlanta’s “Peach Drop” on New Year’s Eve.

Sister Hazel, All Cows Eat Grass and Velveteen are also expected to perform Thursday at the 27th annual event at the Underground Atlanta. An 800-pound peach will be lowered to mark the clock striking midnight.

The “Peach Drop” is considered the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in the Southeast. The event will also include music and a fireworks show.

In suburban Atlanta, the historic Marietta Square will commemorate the beginning of a new year with a ball drop for the first time. The ball is an 8-foot cube with a ball inside, which was designed by an engineering team at Kennesaw State University.

The event will also include ice sculpting, cosmic golfing and ice skating.
