FAIRMONT, N.C. (AP) - Two people have died in a wreck in Robeson County.

The Fayetteville Observer reported (https://bit.ly/1OCygMr) that the North Carolina Highway Patrol said the wreck was reported just after 4 p.m. Thursday about five miles northwest of Fairmont.

The patrol’s report said that 22-yea-rold James Daquan Harris of Roanoke Rapids and 26-year-old Cieaira Nichole Melvin of St. Pauls died when their car was hit by another vehicle.

Trooper K.D. Britt’s report said Harris failed to stop at an intersection and drove into the path of an oncoming SUV.

There was no word on the injuries to the driver of the SUV.

No other details were immediately available.
