PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - Mercer County Circuit Judge Omar Aboulhosn (ABB’-uhl-hah-sun) has resigned to accept a position as a federal magistrate.

The West Virginia Supreme Court announced Aboulhosn’s resignation Friday. His last day on the Circuit Court bench will be Dec. 31.

Chief U.S. District Judge Chuck Chambers appointed Aboulhosn to an eight-year term as a magistrate in the Southern District of West Virginia on Thursday.

Aboulhosn is a Princeton native. He has served as a circuit judge since 2009.
