PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Federal prosecutors say the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Maine collected a little more than $1.7 million in criminal and civil actions in fiscal year 2015.

U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty says criminal actions made up $880,663 of the total and civil actions were slightly less.

The district also worked with other federal attorney’s offices and parts of the federal Department of Justice to collect $5.7 million in cases that were pursued jointly. Almost all of the money from that total is from civil actions.

The federal Department of Justice collected more than $23.1 billion in civil and criminal actions in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30.
