TALLULAH, La. (AP) - A Kentucky woman has died after the van she was in rear-ended an 18-wheeler on Interstate 20.

Louisiana State Police say 43-year-old Kimberly Hall, of Louisville, was killed on impact Thursday and pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish Coroner’s Office.

Six others in the van were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The accident happened shortly before 6:25 p.m. on Interstate 20 just west of Tallulah.

A preliminary investigation shows a van driven by 45-year-old Thomas Hall, also of Louisville, was headed west on I-20 when for an unknown reason he changed lanes and subsequently hit the trailer of an 18-wheeler driven by Santiago Crombet-Falcon of Hialeah, Florida.

Crombet-Falcon was not hurt in the crash.
