ERLANGER, Ky. (AP) - A large fire has occurred at an Erlanger candy factory.

WCPO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1O7xcLR) the fire happened around 3 a.m. at the Perfetti Van Melle factory, with an explosion occurring in a silo at the facility.

Perfetti officials say between 40 and 50 people were inside the factory when the fire happened. No one was injured.

Upon arrival, firefighters said they could see flames shooting from the roof of the silo.

Officials say dust inside the silo could have led to the explosion. Point Pleasant Assistant Fire Chief Bill Martin says explosions can occur any time dust is involved.

Factory president and CEO Mehmet Yuksek says production at the facility will be shut down until exact damages are known.
