BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore Police have charged a man with fatally shooting a community activist and single father in front of his home.

Twenty-four-year-old Kendal Fenwick, who, neighbors say, was trying to stop crime in his Park Heights community, was gunned down outside his home on Nov. 9. Fenwick was the father of three young children.

Police Commissioner Kevin Davis said at a news conference on Friday that a warrant had been obtained charging 21-year-old Devante Brim with Fenwick’s murder.

Davis says Brim was arrested last month in a different shooting, and says Brim used the same gun to kill Fenwick.

Brim remains in custody and will be served with the warrant, police say. A call to the public defender’s office, which is representing Brim, was not answered.
