GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Saucier man has been sentenced to 2O years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child.

District Attorney Joel Smith tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1O7mrcs) 29-year-old Hal Benton Broadus was sentenced Thursday on a guilty plea to sexual battery of a child.

He will serve 20 years in prison without being eligible for parole, as well as five years post-release supervision. He must also register as a sex offender.

In March 2014, Broadus was accused of sexual misconduct against a child during a family gathering.
