KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) - Kenosha police are now investigating what seems to be a false report that shots were fired at an area high school.

The 911 call about an active shooter at Indian Trail High School and Academy prompted a lockdown that lasted nearly an hour.

Sgt. Dan Cooper says authorities received the call shortly before 6 p.m. Friday. There was a basketball game going on at the time. Officers put the school on lockdown and kept everyone in the gymnasium while police searched for someone with a gun.

Cooper said authorities have determined the 911 call was false, and detectives are investigating to see who was behind it.
