LAS VEGAS (AP) - A man is dead and a woman was seriously injured after they were hit while crossing a Las Vegas street and the driver remains at large.

Las Vegas police say the incident happened around 8:20 p.m. Friday on Las Vegas Boulevard near Walnut Road.

According to police, 44-year-old Judith Terrell was pushing a wheelchair carrying a male pedestrian outside of a marked crosswalk.

A car heading northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard struck them both and fled the scene.

Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital.

Police say the 46-year-old man did not survive and Terrell suffered serious injuries.

Investigators say the vehicle is possibly an early 1990s model of a dark colored Nissan sedan.
