SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - After a mistrial, a second jury has found a former Santa Fe youth basketball coach and foster parent guilty of molesting a 10-year-old relative.

The Santa Fe New Mexican reports (https://bit.ly/1XJF7te) jurors found Sevedo Lujan guilty Friday of criminal sexual penetration and criminal sexual contact with a child under 13.

Lujan put his head in his hands as the verdict was announced.

The judge denied a defense attorney’s request that Lujan remain free with electronic monitoring and ordered the 54-year-old taken into custody.

Prosecutors say Lujan and the female relative were watching TV at her mother’s house in April 2012 when the suspect assaulted the girl with his hand.

A jury could not reach a verdict during Lujan’s first trial in June.

He faces up to 33 years in prison.
