DALLAS (AP) - Keith Frazier scored 20 of his 23 points in the first half to lead No. 22 SMU to a 98-44 victory over New Hampshire on Saturday.

Frazier, a junior guard from Dallas, matched his career-high in scoring and he broke his career record for 3-pointers in a game before halftime with five. He finished 6 for 10 from behind the arc and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds.

Shake Milton added 20 points for the Mustangs (6-0).

Jaleen Smith led New Hampshire (5-3) with 14 points, hitting three of seven 3-point attempts, and six rebounds.

The Mustangs led 50-20 at halftime after shooting 60 percent from the field to the Wildcats’ 23.3 percent. They closed the game on a 28-3 run over the final 9 minutes.

SMU led 35-18 with less than 4 minutes remaining in the first half when Frazier hit his next three shots - two 3-pointers and a long 2-pointer - to extend the Mustangs’ lead to 43-18 with 2:25 left in the half.

SMU went into the game holding opponents to 40.8 percent shooting from the field. The Mustangs limited the Wildcats to 27 percent.

New Hampshire had three players foul out and that included the Wildcats’ big man, Iba Camara. Averaging 9.7 points and 10.9 rebounds, Camara didn’t take a shot and grabbed one rebound playing only 10 minutes. He fouled out with 14:06 to play.

The Mustangs dominated in the paint 36-14. They went into the game averaging 41.2 points in the paint to their opponents’ 20.0.

TIP-INS

New Hampshire: The Wildcats’ two-game trip to Texas to play Abilene Christian and SMU was the program’s first visit to the Lone Star State. . Six of New Hampshire’s 11 active players were from Texas, and coach Bill Herrion started five of them in both Texas games.

SMU: Frazier had the program’s first 20-point first half since Paul McCoy scored 21 on Dec. 31, 2008, en route to 32 in a 92-62 Mustangs’ win over Texas A&M-Corpus; Christi. . The Mustangs are 32-3 in the renovated Moody Coliseum that opened January 2014.
