CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) - Cornell Johnston made a jumper with 15.9 left in regulation, and then scored eight of his 24 points in overtime to help Eastern Illinois beat Northern Kentucky 79-73 on Saturday night.

Trae Anderson added 19 points for Eastern Illinois (2-4). Lavone Holland II had 17 points, 12 rebounds with seven assists and four steals to lead Northern Kentucky (1-5).

Jake Giesler made a pair of free throws to give Northern Kentucky a 62-60 lead before Johnston made the fade-away, 15-foot jump shot to tie it. Tyler White missed a jumper, and Giesler ran out of time for the put-back to force overtime.

Johnston made two 3-pointers and a jumper in the extra period to seal it.

Marshawn Blackmon and Trae Anderson scored back-to-back dunks to tie it at 40-all with 12:43 left in regulation, and then neither team had more than a three-point lead until the two-minute mark of overtime.
