CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Unitil officials say that power has been restored to more than 12,000 customers in New Hampshire.

Most of those who lost power at about 8:30 Saturday morning - more than 9,600 customers - were in Concord. Other areas affected were Hooksett, Bow, Canterbury, Loudon and Dunbarton.

The outages shut down a number of shops and restaurants around Main Street in Concord for an hour or more.

Unitil officials told WMUR-TV (https://bit.ly/1lEOLMg ) that power was restored to all customers by about 9:50 a.m.

Officials say they believe the outage was caused by a bird knocking down a power line near Bridge Street in Concord.
